Ultrasonic Endodontic

These Ultrasonic Endodontic Activator Tips are replaceable attachments used during root-canal treatment. When connected to a compatible ultrasonic unit, the thin working end oscillates inside the irrigant-filled canal, creating fluid movement that improves irrigant distribution and helps dislodge dentine debris, tissue remnants and other canal contents.

Ultrasonic irrigant activation works primarily through acoustic streaming or microstreaming, with possible cavitation effects around the oscillating tip. Research indicates that ultrasonic activation can improve canal cleaning compared with conventional syringe irrigation alone, although it does not completely remove all debris from every area of the root-canal system.

The supplied photograph shows three curved metal attachments, each having a slim file-like working portion and a threaded connector. They are stored inside a foam-lined plastic case to protect the delicate tips.
