NIC GF File is a continuous-rotation endodontic system developed for root-canal preparation. According to NIC, the file combines two levels of flexibility and three material phases—A phase, R phase and M phase—within one instrument. This gradient structure is intended to balance strength, cutting efficiency and apical flexibility.

The upper A-phase section is designed to maintain hardness and transmit power toward the apex. The transitional R-phase section provides moderate flexibility, fatigue resistance and cutting efficiency, while the M-phase tip is more flexible and designed to follow curved canal anatomy with controlled, centred cutting.

The GF system also uses multiple cross-sectional designs. SX, T and Z3 files have a triangular cross-section, while Z1 and Z2 use a rectangular cross-section. NIC states that the combination of continuous rotation and an Archimedean spiral-style design supports cutting performance and debris removal.
